Inspires salseros on the dance floor to keep on dancing
DJ $abro$o has organised his own events as well as worked with other organisations to promote Latin music in the UK. He has done his own remixes and has been working with some of the most important names in the Latin world, promoting, as well as managing, some of the best salsa performers and salsa bands in the UK.

His background includes working with major UK promoters, world salsa dance champions as well as legendary artists from the historical Fania Stars. These artists include Adalberto Santiago and top UK Latin bands such as Roberto Pla, Alex Wilson, Luisito Lema, Bilongo All Stars.

He has played many gigs all over the UK, both as the resident DJ and as supporting DJ for live bands. He has been involved in presenting the Latin American Festival in Birmingham and has recently hosted the very first Latin American Festival in Leamington Spa in 2009 organised by Habanaloko.

For many years, he was known as DJ Eddie, but in the late nineties, his name changed to what is now DJ $abro$o. This name was given to him by lead singer Luisito Lema and Elpidio Caicedo (the younger brother of Alberto Caicedo, an ex vocals singer of Grupo Niche) for his charisma, charm and wittiness.

DJ $abro$o often holds DJing workshops for the local authorities and private sector sharing the most effective mixing techniques with younger students.

You can now hear him on the internet radio at www.jaybeedj.pizco.com.

Background
Born 28 November in Valparaiso, Chile as Eduardo Del Rosario Olguin, he immigrated to the UK in 1978. His first taste of salsa came while growing up within the Colombian community in London and at an early age he experienced the flavour of hard core salseros of this era, artists such as Hector Lavoe, Tommy Olivencia, Oscar D'Leon, Grupo Niche.

The artist that really influenced him was Eddie Santiago who inspired him to get into salsa and to become a DJ. He started to play and experiment with music in his bedroom and at times he would select music at family parties. His talent and love for music grew and from an early age, he became very popular with older community representatives. Since then, he has carried la clave in his veins, the bongo in his heart, the music and rhythms in his hips and now promotes with passion, the love for Latin culture, music and dance.
